TULA, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- The Finance Ministry has agreed with a 1.6 billion ruble estimate of compensation to Russian airlines for forced suspension of flights to China, Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh told reporters on Wednesday.
“1.6 billion rubles… the Finance Ministry agreed with this estimate of direct losses of 10 our airlines from discontinuation, impossibility of further flights to China – this is calculation of direct losses,” Ditrikh said.
“We are currently discussing receipt of this compensation from the reserve fund. I cannot tell you when it is to be paid because the decision has not been made yet.”
Russia closed regular flights to China on February 1 and charter flights from February 14.
